Easy Brioche with chocolate chips

I really love making brioche for my weekend breakfast. I made generally a big one in order to have a little bit more for my working day mornings.

PREPARATION: 30 minutes in the bread maker + 1 hour
COOK: 15/25 minutes at 220°C

What do you need ?

  • 1 small egg
  • 140 ml milk (small egg + milk = 150 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 40 g of butter or light butter
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 250 g of plain flour
  • 80g of chocolate chips
  • ½ instant yeast sachet

How to make an easy brioche with chocolate chips?

  • In a bowl, mix the egg with the milk
  • Then in your bread maker, put the mixture with milk and egg
  • Add salt, butter, sugar, plain flour and on the top the yeast

! Beware: yeast must not be in contact with salt and water

  • Use the dough program of your bread (usually 15 minutes) maker twice
  • On the second time of the dough programme, add the chocolate chips
  • Put the bread dough outside and make 6 or 8  balls of dough
  • Put the balls of dough in a cake tray

! Becareful: don’t forget to put plain flour in the cake tray in order to help at the ened of the cooking to extract the brioche

  • Brush the top of the brioche with a mix of half one egg yolk and one tablespoon of water
  • Let the Brioche rise around 60 minutes in a warm environment
  • Cover it with a tea towel
  • Heat the oven at 250°C for 10 minutes
  • Then put the brioche in the oven at 220°C for 15/25 minutes

  • Then put your hot Brioche on a shelf to let it cool down
