Salmon nigiri

So delicious homemade sushi 🙂

PREPARATION: 20 minutes
COOK: 10 minutes

What do you need ?

  • 1 extra-fresh salmon filet
  • 100 of sushi rice
  • wasabi
  • soya sauce
  • mirin

How to make a Salmon nigiri?

  • Slice an extra fresh salmon filet in thin pieces

! Tip: if you are not sure of your salmon, it is preferable to freeze before using it in order to kill all the bacteries

  • Cook the rice with one teaspoon of salt, if you don’t use a rice cooker, you need to cook the 1 volume of rice for 1.5 volume of water

! Tip: The rice is cooked when it has absorbed all the water

  • Put some mirin in the palm of your hand

! Tip: the mirin will help to shape the rice and it will prevent to not burn your palm of your hand from the real hot rice

  • Shape the rice in “square pieces” in the palm of your hand
  • Put some wasabi on each the thin piece of salmon
  • Put one salmon piece on each top of square rice
  • Serve the sushi fresh with soy sauce
