I Sold Feet Pictures For A Week And Made

So, there I was, scrolling through my Instagram feed, when I stumbled upon this guy's profile. He was selling pictures of his feet. Yes, you read that right, feet. I mean, who buys pictures of feet, right? But hey, it's 2023, and stranger things have happened on the internet. I was curious, so I clicked on his profile.

Turns out, this guy was making a decent buck out of it. He had a whole catalog of foot pics, each one more creative than the last. There was one with a cute puppy licking his toes, another with his feet dipped in a glass of wine (classy, huh?), and even one with his feet propped up on a pile of books (because, you know, he's 'literally' reading).

I was hooked. I mean, not on the buying part, but on the idea. I thought to myself, "Why not give it a try?" I've got feet, you've got feet, we all got feet. So, I decided to sell mine for a week. Here's how it went down.

Setting Up Shop

First things first, I needed a platform. Instagram seemed like the obvious choice. It's visual, it's got a 'shop' feature now, and let's face it, it's where the weird and wonderful thrive. I created a separate account, because, you know, privacy. I called it @FeetByEmma. Catchy, huh?

Next, I needed a catalog. I spent a whole afternoon snapping pics of my feet. I had them in sandals, in heels, even in those weird socks I wear when I'm binge-watching Netflix. I edited them, added some filters, and voila! My very own foot gallery.

Now, pricing. I didn't want to be too cheap, but I also didn't want to scare people off. I decided to start with $5 per pic. I mean, it's not like I was selling kidneys here. Plus, it's not every day you find a foot fetishist, right? Might as well make it worth their while.

My First Sale

I posted my first pic on a Monday. It was a simple one, just my feet in flip-flops on the beach. I captioned it with something cheesy like, "Feeling the sand between my toes... and now you can too! 🌊👣" I hashtagged it with everything I could think of - #FootFetish, #FeetPics, #BeachVibes, #ToeTues (yes, that's a thing).

And then I waited. And waited. And waited some more. No likes, no comments, no sales. I started to think, maybe this wasn't such a great idea after all. But just as I was about to give up, I got a notification. Someone had bought my pic! It was a guy from Canada. He left a nice comment too, something about how my feet reminded him of home. Awkward, but sweet.

The Week That Was

The next day, I sold another pic. And the day after that. By the end of the week, I had sold a total of 23 pics. Not bad for a first-timer, huh? I made $115 in a week. Not enough to retire on, but enough to treat myself to a nice dinner and a movie. And hey, it's not like I was out there selling drugs or something. I was just selling pics of my feet. There's a certain... dignity in that, right?

But here's the thing, folks. It wasn't just about the money. It was about the experience. It was about the fact that I, Emma Johnson, had sold pics of my feet to strangers on the internet. It was about the fact that I had taken a weird idea and turned it into something real. And isn't that what life's all about? Trying new things, taking risks, and seeing where they take us?

So, would I do it again? Hell yeah. In fact, I might just make it a monthly thing. After all, feet don't grow on trees, you know? 😂

Until next time, folks. Keep your feet on the ground (and maybe on Instagram too).
