How Old Is Jake In Freaky Friday

So, there I was, watching Freaky Friday for the umpteenth time, when it hit me - how old is Jake, the cute little brother, supposed to be? I mean, he's a kid, but how old is he exactly? It's been bugging me, and I know I'm not alone here. Let's dive into this, shall we?

First Things First: The Movie's Release

Alright, so Freaky Friday was released in 2003. That's right, it's been around for almost two decades! Can you believe it? I still remember when it was a big deal. But enough about my aging self, let's get back to Jake.

Jake's Age in the Movie

Now, in the movie, Jake is described as being 12 years old. But come on, we all know that age is just a number, right? Especially in Hollywood. So, let's try to figure out how old he really is.

When the movie was released, Ryan Malgarini, the actor who played Jake, was actually 14 years old. Yes, you read that right. He was two years older than his character. Isn't that something? I mean, I guess it's not as big of an age gap as some other movies, but still, it's something to think about.

But What About the Remake?

Oh, you didn't know there was a remake? Well, there was! It was released in 2018, and it's a musical, which is pretty cool. But I digress. In this version, Jake is played by Jason Maybaum, who was 12 years old at the time of filming. So, in this case, he was the age he was playing. Isn't that interesting?

Now, I know what you're thinking. "But why does it matter? It's just a movie." And you're right, it is just a movie. But hey, it's fun to think about these things, isn't it? It's like a little game we can play while we're watching our favorite movies.

So, How Old Is Jake?

Well, in the original movie, he's 14 in real life but 12 in the movie. In the remake, he's 12 in real life and in the movie. Isn't that something? I mean, it's not like it changes the plot or anything, but it's still an interesting thing to think about, don't you think?

Anyway, I hope this little journey into the age of Jake was as fun for you as it was for me. Until next time, movie lovers!
