How Old Are The Sanderson Sisters

So, there I was, scrolling through my Netflix queue, and I stumbled upon Hocus Pocus. You know the one - the '90s classic about the Sanderson Sisters, the witches from Salem who love to sing and dance (and steal children's lives, but let's focus on the fun stuff). I hit play, and as I watched Winifred, Mary, and Sarah cackle their way through the screen, I found myself wondering, just how old are these ladies?

Time Traveling Witches

Now, I'm no expert on witchcraft (though I do have a mean spell for getting the remote out of the dog's mouth), but I'm pretty sure that when you're a witch, time works a little differently. I mean, these ladies were hanged in 1693, but they're still kicking it in the 21st century. That's some serious life (or afterlife) extension right there.

But let's rewind (pun intended) to their human days. Winifred, the eldest and most powerful of the sisters, was born in 1641. That makes her... carry the one... carry the two... okay, I'll do the math for you. That makes her 382 years old. Mary, the middle sister, was born in 1648, so she's a sprightly 373. And Sarah, the baby of the family, was born in 1653, making her a mere 368. But remember, these are their human ages. Witch years are a whole different story.

Witch Years vs. Human Years

You might be thinking, "But how do we know how old they are now? They've been dead for over 300 years!" Well, my curious friend, that's where the whole 'time traveling witch' thing comes in. When they were brought back to life in 1993, they started aging again. So, in human years, they've been around for another 29 years. But in witch years? Who knows? They could be older than the Salem Witch Trials themselves!

Now, I'm sure you're wondering, "How do they stay so youthful?" Well, besides their magical potions and lotions, I like to think they've found the fountain of youth in the form of a good laugh and a great song. I mean, have you seen them dance? They've got more energy than my toddler on a sugar high!

Age is Just a Number

But seriously, folks, the Sanderson Sisters are a reminder that age is just a number. Whether you're 16 or 382, it's never too late to chase your dreams (or steal some children's lives... I mean, candy, obviously). So, the next time you watch Hocus Pocus, raise a glass of... uh, apple cider... to Winifred, Mary, and Sarah. Because no matter how old they are, they're still the life of the party.

And there you have it, folks. The Sanderson Sisters are older than your grandparents, your parents, and probably your great-great-grandparents combined. But hey, who's counting? They're still fabulous, and that's what really matters.
