When Is Next London Mayoral Election

Hey there, London town! Ever wondered when we're next rolling out the red carpet for our city's top dog, the Mayor of London? Let's dive in, yeah?

When's the Big Day?

Alright, so the next London mayoral election is scheduled for May 2024. Mark your calendars, folks! It's a Thursday, just in case you were planning your week around it. 😉

Now, you might be thinking, "Hang on a sec, wasn't there one just last year?" Well, spotted! You're absolutely right. The last election was in 2021, but that was a special one, held early due to the pandemic. So, the next one in 2024 will be back on its usual four-year cycle.

Who's in the Hot Seat Until Then?

While we're waiting for the big day, our current mayor, Sadiq Khan, will be keeping the show on the road. He's been at the helm since 2016, and he's got a few more years to go before we kick him out or keep him in, depending on what we fancy, of course! 😜

What's on the Agenda?

By the time 2024 rolls around, we'll be looking for someone to steer us through the next term. That means they'll need to have a plan for everything from transport to housing, from crime to culture. It's a big job, but someone's gotta do it, right?

So, start brushing up on your manifestos, folks!

Why Should You Care?

You might be thinking, "Why should I get involved? It's just one election, right?" Wrong! The mayor of London has a big impact on our day-to-day lives. They've got a say in how our transport system runs, how our police force operates, and even how much we pay for our Oyster cards. So, it's pretty important stuff, yeah?
