When Do Oscar Nominations Come Out

Hey there, movie buff! You're probably dying to know when those shiny Oscar nominations are gonna pop up, right? I mean, who doesn't love a good ol' Hollywood guessing game?

Well, grab your coffee, get comfy, and let me spill the beans. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, those fancy folks who bring us the Oscars, have a little tradition going on.

Every year, around this time, they gather in a cozy theater, dim the lights, and announce the nominees for the upcoming Academy Awards. It's like their version of a secret society meeting, but with way more glitz and glam.

So, when's the big reveal?

Mark your calendars, folks! The Oscar nominations are typically announced on a Monday in mid-January. This year, it's happening on the 23rd, to be precise. I know, I know, the suspense is killing you, right?

But why so early, you ask? Well, the Academy likes to give us all plenty of time to dissect, debate, and drool over the nominees before the big show. Plus, it gives the nominees themselves time to practice their acceptance speeches. You know, just in case.

Now, if you're not a morning person, don't worry. The Academy has mercy on our souls and streams the whole shebang live on their website and YouTube channel. So, you can snooze and still catch all the action.

What happens after the big reveal?

Once the nominations are out, it's like the starting pistol for the Oscar race. The buzz starts, the predictions roll in, and the internet is filled with hot takes and cold feet. It's a beautiful, chaotic time.

The nominees themselves get a fancy invite to the big show, and the rest of us get to play armchair critic. We'll spend the next few weeks debating who deserves that little gold statue, who got snubbed, and who's gonna wear what on the red carpet.
