Mark Your Calendars, Folks!

First things first, October 12, 2026, is a Wednesday. Yes, you heard it right, a hump day! Now, you might be thinking, "Wow, a Wednesday? That's... thrilling." I know, I know, it's not a Friday, but hey, every day's an adventure, right?

Columbus Day or Indigenous Peoples' Day?

Now, let's talk holidays. In the United States, this day is traditionally celebrated as Columbus Day. You know, the guy who sailed the ocean blue, discovered America, and all that. But hold your applause, because this story's got a twist.

In recent years, many states and cities have replaced Columbus Day with Indigenous Peoples' Day. It's a day to honor and celebrate the original inhabitants of this land. So, depending on where you are, you might be celebrating one or the other, or even both!

But Wait, There's More!

Now, let's jet off to other parts of the world. In Spain, October 12 is a big deal. It's called Día de la Hispanidad, or Spanish National Day. It's like their version of our Fourth of July, celebrating their heritage and all that makes Spain, Spain.
