So, you've heard about Lindsay Clancy, right? The nurse who's been in the news lately. But what about her nursing career before all that? Let's grab a coffee and dive in, yeah?
From Student to Nurse
Lindsay's nursing journey started like many others - with a dream and a whole lot of studying. She graduated from Boston College with a degree in Psychology, but nursing was her calling. So, she headed to Boston College Connell School of Nursing and earned her BSN in 2017.
Now, I'm no expert, but I'm guessing those four years were a whirlwind of classes, clinicals, and probably a few late-night study sessions fueled by coffee (or was that just me in college?).
Must Read
Her First Job: Cape Cod Hospital
After graduation, Lindsay landed her first nursing job at Cape Cod Hospital. She started as a Staff Nurse in their Medical-Surgical Unit. You know, the place where nurses handle a bit of everything - from post-op care to managing chronic conditions.
I mean, can you imagine? Fresh out of school, and suddenly you're caring for patients with all sorts of needs. Talk about a baptism by fire!
Moving Up: The ICU
But Lindsay didn't stay in Med-Surg for long. In 2019, she made the move to the Intensive Care Unit. Now we're talking high-stakes nursing, folks. These nurses care for the sickest of the sick, often using advanced technology and life-support measures.

I'm getting stressed just thinking about it, but Lindsay seemed to thrive in this environment. She was there for about two years, honing her skills and gaining valuable experience.
A Change of Scenery: Orlando
In 2021, Lindsay decided it was time for a change of pace (and scenery). She packed her bags and headed south to Orlando, Florida. There, she started working at Orlando Health as an ICU Travel Nurse.
Travel nursing, you ask? Yep, that's where nurses get to see the country (or at least, parts of it) while doing what they do best. Lindsay spent about six months in Orlando before heading back north.

Back Home: UMass Memorial
Lindsay returned to Massachusetts in late 2021, landing a job at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. She was back in the ICU, this time as a Staff Nurse in their Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit.
Talk about coming full circle! From Med-Surg to the ICU, and now she's caring for some of the most critical heart patients. Not bad for a few years' work, huh?
And Then...
And then, well, you know what happened next. Lindsay's story took a turn that none of us saw coming. But that's a story for another time (and another coffee).
For now, let's just raise our cups to Lindsay - the nurse who worked her way up, one shift at a time. Here's to her journey, and to all the nurses out there making a difference, one patient at a time.
