First Things First: Who's Barbara?

Barbara "Barb" Holland, played by the fabulous Shannon Purser, was Mike's best friend in season one. She was sweet, smart, and had a killer sense of style. She was also, unfortunately, the first victim of the Demogorgon. RIP, Barb.

But Wait, Didn't They Find Her Body?

Yes, they did. In the season one finale, Nancy and Jonathan find Barb's body in the Upside Down. It's a grim moment, but it's also a confirmation that, yes, Barb is indeed dead. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there you have it.

Why the Confusion?

Well, for one, the Duffer Brothers are masterful storytellers, and they like to keep us on our toes. Plus, there were those fan theories suggesting Barb might be alive. Some even thought she could be the Mind Flayer! But alas, no such luck.
