Do People On Gogglebox Get Paid

So, you're wondering, do those lovable couch potatoes on Gogglebox get paid to binge-watch TV and dish out hilarious commentary? Let's dive in and find out!

First things first, what's the deal with Gogglebox?

For the uninitiated, Gogglebox is a reality TV show that's been keeping us entertained since 2013. It's like having a bunch of friends over to watch TV, except these friends are selected for their awesome reactions and witty banter. They sit in their living rooms, watching the week's biggest TV moments, and we get to see their hilarious, heartwarming, and sometimes cringe-worthy reactions.

Now, let's talk money!

Alright, alright, you're here for the cash talk. Here's the scoop: yes, the Gogglebox families do get paid. But it's not as much as you might think. Each family earns around £1,500 per episode. That's about £15,000 for the whole series, before tax. Not bad for a few months of binge-watching, right?

But here's the thing, it's not all about the money. Most families join Gogglebox for the love of TV and the chance to make people laugh. Plus, they get to watch shows they might not have seen otherwise. It's like getting paid to do your favorite hobby!

What about the fame factor?

With great TV comes great responsibility (and a bit of fame). Being on Gogglebox has turned some families into minor celebrities. They get recognized in the street, invited to events, and even offered freebies. But don't worry, they're still the same down-to-earth folks you see on your telly.

So, how do you become a Gogglebox star?

If you're thinking, "Hey, I could do that! I love TV and I've got some great mates," then you're in luck. The show is always on the lookout for new families. All you need is a love of telly, a unique perspective, and a great sense of humor. Oh, and it helps if you're not camera shy.
