All Harry Potter Cast Members Who Have Passed Away

Hey there, Potterheads! Let's take a moment to remember some of the incredible actors who brought the magical world of Hogwarts to life, and have since left us with a wave of their wands. Don't worry, this isn't a sad story - we're going to celebrate their lives and the joy they brought us, one spell at a time.

Richard Harris - Albus Dumbledore (1991-2002)

Oh, Richard, where do we begin? The original Dumbledore, he was a true gentleman and a fantastic actor. He brought a warmth and wisdom to the role that was simply enchanting. Sadly, he passed away in 2002, but his spirit lives on in every "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times" quote.

Richard Griffiths - Vernon Dursley (2001-2011)

Remember Vernon, the grumpy, muggle-born uncle who made Harry's life a little less magical? Richard Griffiths played him to perfection, and we loved him for it. He passed away in 2013, but his hilarious performances will forever be etched in our hearts.

John Hurt - Garrick Ollivander (2001-2011)

With his distinctive voice and quirky charm, John Hurt brought the wand shop owner to life in a way that was truly magical. He passed away in 2017, but his legacy lives on in every wand-waving scene.

Alan Rickman - Severus Snape (2001-2011)

Ah, Severus Snape. The man, the myth, the legend. Alan Rickman's portrayal of the complex potions master was nothing short of extraordinary. His passing in 2016 left a void in the magical world, but his incredible talent will forever be remembered.

Robert Hardy - Cornelius Fudge (2004-2007)

As the bumbling Minister of Magic, Robert Hardy brought a touch of comedy to the series. He passed away in 2017, but his memorable performances will always make us chuckle.

Helena Bonham Carter - Bellatrix Lestrange (2007-2011)

Helena Bonham Carter's portrayal of the cackling, wild-haired Bellatrix was nothing short of brilliant. While she's still with us, we couldn't write this article without mentioning her incredible talent.

Richard Harris - Albus Dumbledore (2004-2009)
