Who Plays As Belle In Beauty And The Beast

Hey there, let's dive into the magical world of Beauty and the Beast, shall we? You know, that enchanting tale where a grumpy prince turns into a furry fellow, and a lovely lady named Belle teaches him that beauty is more than skin deep. Sound familiar?

So, who's this Belle gal, anyway?

Well, grab your tea (or coffee, no judgment here), because we're about to spill the beans on who's played this iconic Disney princess over the years. And let me tell you, it's quite the lineup!

Emma Watson - The Modern Belle

Let's start with the most recent Belle, shall we? Emma Watson, our favorite Hermione from Harry Potter, took on the role in the live-action Beauty and the Beast movie that hit theaters in 2017. She absolutely nailed it, didn't she? I mean, who else could pull off that stunning yellow ball gown and make us all swoon over Beast?

But here's a fun fact for you - Emma wasn't the first choice for the role. Can you believe it? Yep, it's true! Emily Blunt was initially offered the part, but she turned it down to focus on other projects. Lucky for us, Emma stepped in and became the Belle we all know and love.

Paige O'Hara - The Animated Belle

Now, let's rewind to 1991, when the original Beauty and the Beast movie first graced our screens. The voice behind our beloved Belle was none other than Paige O'Hara. You might not recognize the name, but I guarantee you'll recognize her voice!

Paige was actually a bit of a latecomer to the role. She was initially called in to audition for another character, but the casting directors loved her voice so much that they created the role of Belle just for her. Talk about a Cinderella story, huh?

But wait, there's more!

Belle's been around for quite some time, and she's been played by some amazing actresses and singers along the way. In the Broadway musical, Susan Egan originated the role of Belle, and she was absolutely fantastic. And let's not forget about the incredible Audra McDonald, who took on the role in the 2012 revival.

And what about the TV movies and spin-offs? Belle's been played by a whole host of talented actresses, including Jennifer Love Hewitt in "Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas" and Haley Lu Richardson in "Descendants 2". Phew, that's a lot of Belles, right?

So, who's your favorite Belle?

I know, I know, it's like choosing a favorite child - impossible! But hey, that's what makes this princess so special. She's been brought to life by so many incredible women, each with their own unique take on the character. And that's something truly magical, don't you think?

So there you have it, folks! A whirlwind tour through the wonderful world of Belles, past and present. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a date with a certain Beast and a plate of enchanted rose petals. Until next time!
