Who Is The Voice Of Kitt In Knight Rider

So, you've been cruising around in your imaginary turbo-charged, talking car, haven't you? You know, the one with the sleek black body and that iconic red stripe. The one that's always ready with a quip or a pun, thanks to its AI brain, KITT. But have you ever wondered, who's the voice behind that smooth-talking, crime-fighting machine?

William Daniels: The Man Behind the Voice

Well, buckle up, because we're about to dive into the world of voice acting and find out who's the mastermind behind KITT's charming personality. Drumroll please... it's none other than William Daniels!

Now, you might be thinking, "William who?" And that's okay, because even though he's a Hollywood veteran with a career spanning over six decades, he's not your typical household name. But trust me, you've seen him before. He's the guy who played Mr. Feeny in Boy Meets World, the lovable yet stern neighbor who always had a life lesson ready to go.

From Mr. Feeny to KITT: A Voice Acting Journey

But let's rewind a bit. Before he was teaching the Tanner brothers about life, Daniels was already making a name for himself in the voice acting world. In fact, he was the original voice of KITT in the classic 80s TV show, Knight Rider. Can you believe that? The same guy who was telling Cory and Shawn to "cut it out" was also the one making Michael Knight's life a whole lot easier with his witty one-liners.

Daniels' voice was the perfect fit for KITT. It was smooth, calm, and had just the right amount of wit to make the car's AI feel like a real character. And let's not forget, he had some serious competition. I mean, have you heard the voice of the second KITT actor? Yeah, let's not go there.

Daniels' Impact on Knight Rider and Beyond

Daniels' performance as KITT was so iconic that it's hard to imagine anyone else voicing the character. His unique style of delivery brought KITT to life, making him an integral part of the show's success. And let's not forget the catchphrases! "I'm not just a car, Michael" and "I'm sorry, Michael, I'm afraid I can't do that" became as much a part of Knight Rider as the car's turbo boost.

But Daniels' impact on Knight Rider wasn't just about the voice. He also brought a certain warmth and humanity to the character. Despite being a machine, KITT always felt like a friend, a confidant, and sometimes even a conscience to Michael Knight. And that's all thanks to Daniels' incredible talent.

Daniels' Other Voice Acting Roles

Daniels' work on Knight Rider was just the beginning of his voice acting career. He went on to voice characters in numerous other shows and movies, including the iconic robot in the 1982 film "Short Circuit". But for many of us, he'll always be KITT.

So, the next time you're watching an episode of Knight Rider, or maybe even just daydreaming about cruising around in a talking car, remember to tip your hat to William Daniels. He's the man behind the voice, the one who brought KITT to life, and made our childhoods a whole lot cooler.

And who knows? Maybe one day, we'll finally get that Knight Rider reboot we've all been waiting for. And when we do, I hope they bring back Daniels to voice KITT. After all, some things are just too perfect to change.
