Where Was Schitt's Creek Supposed To Be

Hey there, TV buffs! Ever wondered where the quirky little town of Schitt's Creek was supposed to be? You're not alone. The show's creators, father-son duo Dan and Eugene Levy, have been pretty tight-lipped about it, but let's dive into the clues and have some fun speculating, shall we?

So, Where's Schitt's Creek?

Alright, first things first. Schitt's Creek isn't based on any real town. It's a figment of the Levy's imagination, born out of a joke about what a wealthy family might buy as a joke gift for another rich family. Isn't that just the perfect origin story for this hilarious show?

Now, let's talk about the show's setting. We know it's in Canada, because, well, it's a Canadian gem! But beyond that, it's a bit of a mystery. The show was filmed in various locations around Ontario, including Goodwood, Jackson's Point, and Markham. But none of these places are the 'real' Schitt's Creek.

Clues from the Show

Remember Rose Apothecary? It's a nod to the town's original name, 'Little Texas,' which was changed to 'Schitt's Creek' by the town's founder, Johnny Rose's great-great-grandfather. So, could there be a real 'Little Texas' somewhere in Canada? It's possible!

Another clue is the town's proximity to a big city. In the show, it's close enough for the Roses to commute to their old life, but far enough to be a world away. This could point to a location near a major Canadian city like Toronto or Montreal.

Why the Mystery?

You might be wondering why the Levys are so secretive about Schitt's Creek's location. Well, part of the town's charm is its isolation, you know? If we knew exactly where it was, it might lose some of that magical, made-up quality. Plus, it's just more fun this way, isn't it?

Besides, the show isn't really about the location. It's about the characters, their relationships, and their growth. The town of Schitt's Creek is just the backdrop for all the heartwarming and hilarious moments we've come to love.
