When Was Last Time Sabres Made Playoffs

Let's Talk Sabres, Playoffs, and That Elusive 'Last Time'

Alright, sports fans, let's dive into the time machine and set the dial for Buffalo, New York. We're talking Sabres here, the NHL team that's been around since the 70s, and we're on a mission to find out when they last made the playoffs. Buckle up, 'cause it's been a bit of a rollercoaster!

Rewinding the Clock

Let's rewind the clock to the good old days, shall we? The Sabres, they were a force to be reckoned with back in the day. We're talking about the 70s and 80s here, folks. They were making the playoffs like it was nobody's business. In fact, from 1970 to 1980, they missed the playoffs zero times. Yep, you heard it right, zero!

But then, the 90s hit, and things started to change. The Sabres were still a fun team to watch, don't get me wrong, but making the playoffs became a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. They made it a few times, sure, but it wasn't as regular as it used to be.

Fast Forward to the 21st Century

Now, let's fast forward to the 21st century. The Sabres had their ups and downs, but let's talk about the downs for a sec. From 2000 to 2018, they only made the playoffs three times. That's right, just three times in nearly two decades!

But here's the thing, folks. Sports are all about comebacks, right? And the Sabres, they've got a knack for keeping their fans on the edge of their seats. So, let's talk about that elusive 'last time'.

They finished the season with a record of 26-18-4, which was good enough to secure them a spot in the playoffs. And you know what? They even won a game in the first round. Not too shabby, huh?

Why We Love the Sabres

So, why do we love the Sabres? Well, for starters, they're a team that's always got a little bit of magic up their sleeves. They might not make the playoffs every year, but when they do, it's like a party in Buffalo!
