When Is The Next God Of War Coming Out

So, you're dying to know when the next God of War is coming out, huh? I mean, who can blame you? Kratos and Atreus' bromance has us all on the edge of our seats, right?

Alright, let's dive in. But first, grab a coffee. We've got some time to kill.

Sony's Lips Are Sealed

You'd think Sony would be shouting it from the rooftops, but nooo, they're being all coy about the release date. I mean, come on, Santa Monica Studio, give us something to work with!

As of now, we're all just playing the waiting game. But hey, at least we know it's happening, right?

What We Know So Far

Remember that big PlayStation Showcase event last year? Yeah, that one. They dropped a teensy tiny little tidbit about God of War: Ragnarök. It's coming. That's about it.

But here's the thing, they didn't give us a date. Not even a vague "coming soon" or "when the stars align". Nada. Zip. Zilch.

Now, I'm not one to spread rumors, but word on the street is that it might be sometime in 2022. But who knows? Sony's keeping quiet as a mouse in a library.

What's Taking So Long?

You might be thinking, "But why the wait? They've had plenty of time!" Well, friend, let me tell you, game development is no walk in the park.

Think about it. They've got to create entire new worlds, write complex storylines, and animate Kratos' epic axe throws. It's not like they can just slap something together and call it a day.

And let's not forget, they've got to top the last game. The bar is high, folks. Really high.

But What About That Leak?

Oh, you heard about that, did you? Yeah, there was a little... incident. Some folks over at Resetera got their hands on what they thought was the release date. But Sony was quick to shut that down.

So, take any "leaked" dates with a grain of salt. We don't want to get our hopes up, do we?

So, When Will We Know?

Your guess is as good as mine, buddy. But hey, at least we can still enjoy the original God of War: Ragnarök. You know, the one that's already out.

Until then, we'll just have to keep our eyes peeled for any announcements. And maybe, just maybe, Santa Monica Studio will take pity on us and drop a date soon.

But until that day comes, we'll just have to be patient. Or not. I mean, who are we kidding? We're all refreshing the PlayStation Blog every five minutes, right?
