The Witcher Season 1 Episode 4 Explained

Hey there, fellow Witcher enthusiast! Grab a cuppa, let's dive into Season 1, Episode 4, "Of Banquets, Bastards and Burials". Spoilers ahead, so if you haven't watched it yet, what are you doing here? Go on, shoo!

Geralt's Got a New Gig

So, our favorite White Wolf is back in Vizima, and guess who's the new king? None other than Foltest, the guy who tried to kill him last season. Awkward, right? But hey, Geralt's not one to hold grudges (yeah, right), especially when there's a nice fat contract on the table.

Foltest wants him to find the missing princess, Adda. Now, I don't know about you, but I'd be more worried about finding her alive. But Geralt's just like, "Yup, on it," and off he goes, no questions asked. Typical Witcher, am I right?

Dijkstra's Got a Secret

Meanwhile, Dijkstra's up to something. He's got a secret room, a secret map, and a secret plan to... well, we don't know yet. But it's got something to do with that mysterious sorceress, Triss, and her little chat with the king about some "special" girl.

I mean, come on, Dijkstra. You're not exactly subtle. You've got a secret room in the royal palace, and you're using it to plot something with a sorceress. Who even needs enemies when you've got that kind of security?

Ciri's Got a New Friend

Our little Ciri's on the run, and she's picked up a new friend - a guy named Letho. He's a Witcher too, but he's not exactly Geralt's biggest fan. Something about a "traitor" and a "betrayal". Drama, drama, drama.

But hey, at least Ciri's finally getting some Witcher training. About time, right? She's been through enough to earn a few silver swords.

And Then There's Yennefer...

Oh, Yennefer. Always stirring the pot. She's back, she's got a new look, and she's got a bone to pick with Geralt. Again. Because, you know, their relationship is super healthy.
