Orange Is The New Black Annie Golden

So, you're into Orange is the New Black, huh? Let's spill the beans on Annie Golden, the Broadway babe who's been serving up some serious acting chops in Litchfield. Grab your coffee, let's chat.

From Stage to Cell Block

Annie's no stranger to the spotlight. She's been strutting her stuff on Broadway since the '70s. I mean, can you believe it? She's practically a living legend! But then, she went and did something crazy - she joined the cast of Orange is the New Black. I know, right? Talk about a career twist!

Now, you might be thinking, "What's a Broadway diva doing in a place like Litchfield?" Well, my friend, that's the beauty of it. Annie's character, Norma Romano, is anything but your typical diva. She's a complex, flawed, and utterly lovable inmate who'll have you laughing one minute and crying the next. It's a masterclass in acting, if you ask me.

Meet Norma Romano

So, who's Norma Romano, you ask? Well, she's a hoot! Picture this: a former cabaret singer with a heart of gold and a mouth like a sailor. She's got a past as colorful as her wardrobe, and she's not afraid to share it. Oh, and she's got a thing for younger women. I mean, who doesn't love a good ship in a show?

Annie brings this character to life with such warmth and humor. It's like she's inviting us into her world, warts and all. And let's not forget the singing! Annie's got a voice like an angel, and she's not afraid to use it. I mean, who else could make a prison shower sound like a Broadway stage?

Annie's not just a delight to watch; she's also a force behind the scenes. She's been a mentor to the younger cast members, sharing her wisdom and experience. I mean, can you imagine having Annie Golden as your fairy godmother on set? Talk about a dream come true!

And let's not forget her activism. Annie's used her platform to raise awareness about issues like prison reform and LGBTQ+ rights. She's not just acting; she's making a difference. Isn't that something?

And that, my friend, is the true mark of a great actor. Now, pass the cream and sugar, would ya? I'm all talked out.
