So, there I was, minding my own business, scrolling through my Twitter feed, when I stumbled upon a tweet that made my day. It was from the official One Punch Man account, and it read: "Season 3 is happening, folks!" I nearly did a Saitama-style jump for joy. But then, the question popped into my head, and I'm sure it did into yours too: how many episodes are we talking about here?
Let's Talk Numbers
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Hey, aren't you getting a bit ahead of yourself? We don't even know when Season 3 is coming out!" And you're right, we don't. But that doesn't mean we can't speculate, right? After all, we're fans, and that's what we do best.
Let's first look at the previous seasons. Season 1 had 12 episodes, and Season 2 had 12 as well. So, it's safe to assume that the anime follows a 12-episode format per season. But, and this is a big but, we can't rule out the possibility of a change in format.

Could It Be More?
Remember when we were all wondering if Saitama would finally land that second punch in Season 2? And then, bam! They ended it with a cliffhanger. I mean, come on! We deserve some closure, don't we? And maybe, just maybe, that closure will come in the form of more episodes.
Think about it. The manga is still ongoing, and there's plenty of material to work with. Plus, the anime has been a massive hit, so it wouldn't be surprising if they decided to give us more episodes. I mean, who wouldn't want to see more of Saitama's adventures?

But What If It's Less?
Now, I know I've been painting a rosy picture here, but let's not forget that there's a chance Season 3 could have fewer episodes. After all, anime adaptations can be unpredictable. But hey, even if it's just 12 episodes, as long as we get to see our favorite heroes (and villains) in action, I'm sure we'll be happy.
And who knows? Maybe they'll surprise us with a double-length season. I mean, stranger things have happened, right? Remember when Saitama punched a meteorite? Yeah, that was pretty strange.

Patience, My Friends
So, here we are, left hanging with no concrete information about the number of episodes in Season 3. But that's okay. We've waited this long, we can wait a little longer. After all, anticipation is half the fun, right?
In the meantime, why don't we speculate some more? How many episodes do you think Season 3 will have? And more importantly, what do you hope to see in the new season? Let me know in the comments below. Until then, this is your friendly neighborhood One Punch Man fan, signing off.
