Never Mind I'll Find Someone Like You

So, there I was, standing in the middle of a crowded bar, my friend Sarah had just ditched me for some guy she'd met online. I mean, come on, Sarah! I'd been planning this night out for weeks, and you're going to leave me for some internet stranger?

But hey, that's life in the 21st century, right? We're all just swiping left and right, looking for our next 'match'. And if one person doesn't work out, well, there's always someone else out there, just a click away.

Never Mind, I'll Find Someone Like You

That phrase, "Never mind, I'll find someone like you", has become our generation's mantra. It's the digital age equivalent of "There are plenty of fish in the sea". But is that really what we want? A never-ending stream of 'someones like you', or do we want you?

Let's face it, we've all been guilty of it. We've all swiped right on someone because they looked like our ex, or because they had a cute dog in their profile picture. We're looking for a replacement, not a connection.

But What If We Stopped?

What if we stopped looking for 'someone like you' and started looking for you? What if we started valuing quality over quantity, and connection over convenience?

Now, I'm not saying we should all delete our dating apps and start writing love letters by hand. But maybe, just maybe, we should take a step back and ask ourselves what we really want.

Are we looking for a quick fix, or are we looking for something real? Are we looking for someone to fill a void, or are we looking for someone to fill our life?

Finding 'You'

Finding 'you' isn't easy. It takes time, effort, and a whole lot of patience. It means being vulnerable, being open, and being honest. It means putting ourselves out there, even when we're scared of getting hurt.

But isn't that what love is? Isn't love about taking a chance, about putting ourselves out there, about being vulnerable?

So, the next time you're tempted to swipe right on someone because they remind you of your ex, stop. Ask yourself, "Is this what I really want?" And if the answer is no, then maybe it's time to start looking for 'you'.

Because 'you' is out there. 'You' is the one who makes you laugh until your stomach hurts. 'You' is the one who challenges you, who supports you, who loves you. 'You' is the one who makes you feel like you're home.

And 'you' is worth waiting for.

So, here's to 'you'. May we all find 'you'. And may we never settle for 'someone like you' again.
