Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes

So, there I was, scrolling through my newsfeed, when I stumbled upon an image that made me do a double-take. It was an ape, alright, but this one was sitting on a throne, looking all regal and stuff. I mean, I've seen apes in suits, apes riding horses, but an ape king? That's a new one!

Turns out, I wasn't the only one who thought this was worth a second glance. Some clever folks over at Weta Digital and 20th Century Studios had the same idea. They've gone and made a movie about it, titled Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. I know, right? It's like they heard my mind screaming, "More ape royalty, please!"

From Humble Beginnings to Throne Rooms

Let's rewind a bit, shall we? The Planet of the Apes franchise has been around since the 60s, with the original movie being a cultural phenomenon. It started with a simple question: What if humans weren't the dominant species? Fast forward to the 2010s, we got a reboot trilogy that started with Rise of the Planet of the Apes. That's where our furry friends started their journey to the top.

Now, I won't spoil the whole trilogy for you, but let's just say, Caesar, the ape leader played by the brilliant Andy Serkis, had quite the rise to power. From a lab ape to a freedom fighter, to a king? Yeah, they've come a long way, baby!

What to Expect from the Kingdom

So, what's in store for us in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes? Well, first off, it's a direct sequel to the trilogy, picking up where War for the Planet of the Apes left off. That means more of those stunning visual effects that made the apes look so darn realistic.

As for the story, we're looking at a world where humans are scarce, and apes have taken over. But remember, power vacuums are never peaceful, and Caesar's kingdom is no exception. Expect political intrigue, power struggles, and maybe even a human or two trying to make a comeback.

And hey, if we're lucky, maybe we'll get to see some of those iconic Planet of the Apes moments, you know, like the "You maniacs!" beach scene, but with an ape twist. A guy can dream, right?

In the meantime, why not revisit the trilogy? It's a wild ride, and it'll give you a nice refresher before the big event. And who knows, you might just find a new appreciation for our simian friends.

So, there you have it, folks. The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is coming. Are you ready to bow down to your new ape overlords? I know I am!
