Is There A New Season Of The Rookie

So, I was at my local coffee shop the other day, and I bumped into old Tim, you know, the guy who's always up to date with the latest shows. He's like the walking, talking IMDb. I hadn't seen him since, well, since the last season of The Rookie aired. And there he was, grinning from ear to ear, like he'd just seen a ghost. I thought, "Uh-oh, what have I missed?"

Turns out, Tim had just finished binge-watching the latest season of The Rookie. And here I was, clueless, still waiting for that magical notification on my streaming platform. I mean, come on, Netflix! I've got my own cop drama to run here!

So, is there a new season of The Rookie?

Alright, let's cut to the chase. You're here because you're wondering the same thing, right? Well, grab a cup of coffee - or tea, I don't discriminate - and let's dive in.

First things first, The Rookie is a cop drama that follows John Nolan, a guy who decides to join the LAPD at the age of 40. It's like Lethal Weapon meets Training Day, with a dash of New Girl for good measure. It's got action, it's got drama, and it's got that perfect blend of humor that makes you laugh even when you're on the edge of your seat.

Now, onto the main event. The show was renewed for a fourth season back in May 2021. I know, I know, that was ages ago, right? But hey, good things take time. The renewal was announced just a few days after the season three finale aired, so at least they didn't keep us waiting too long.

When can we expect the new season?

Here's where things get a little tricky. ABC, the network that airs The Rookie, hasn't announced an official release date yet. But don't worry, I've done some digging, and I've got some intel for you.

Production for season four started back in September 2021. That's right, they've been busy little bees, filming away while we've been over here, twiddling our thumbs. But remember, production schedules can change, so we'll have to wait for an official announcement from ABC.

The Rookie New Season 9 Is Happening. ABC Renewed It

Now, you might be wondering why they haven't announced the release date yet. Well, it could be because ABC is waiting to see how their other shows perform. They've got a lot on their plate, with new shows and returning favorites. But don't worry, I'll keep an eye out and update you as soon as I hear anything.

What can we expect from season four?

Alright, let's talk spoilers. Or, you know, potential plot points based on the season three finale. If you haven't watched it yet, look away now. I'll wait.

Okay, all caught up? Good. So, we left John Nolan in a bit of a pickle. He'd just been shot - again - and his future with the LAPD was up in the air. Plus, there was that little matter of him lying to his captain. You know, just your average Tuesday night.

But here's the thing, folks. The Rookie is known for its cliffhangers. It's like they're daring us not to come back. And every time, we do. Because we're invested. We care about these characters. We want to see what happens next.

So, what can we expect from season four? Well, for starters, we'll probably see John recover from his injuries and figure out his future with the LAPD. Maybe he'll finally get that promotion. Maybe he'll have to start from scratch. Who knows? That's half the fun!

We might also see some new faces. After all, The Rookie is known for its dynamic cast. And with John's future uncertain, there's plenty of room for new characters to shake things up.

But here's the thing, folks. We won't know for sure until ABC drops that release date. Until then, we'll just have to keep guessing. And speculating. And rewatching old episodes. You know, the usual.

How can I stay up to date?

Great question! Here are a few ways you can stay in the loop:

• Follow the official The Rookie Twitter account. They're pretty good about dropping hints and teasers.
• Sign up for ABC updates. They'll send you news and reminders about your favorite shows.
• Check back here. I'll do my best to keep you updated. After all, I don't want to be the only one in the dark when Tim starts dropping spoilers again.

And there you have it, folks. The latest on The Rookie. I know it's not much, but hey, at least we know there's more to come. And until then, we've got three seasons to rewatch. And rewatch. And rewatch.

So, what do you think? Are you excited for season four? What are you hoping to see? Let me know in the comments. And remember, no spoilers! At least, not until ABC gives us an official release date.
