How To Reset Lube Belt On Horizon Treadmill

Hey there, treadmill warrior! Stuck with a wonky lube belt on your Horizon? Don't sweat it, we've all been there. Let's grab a coffee and dive into this little reset project, shall we?

First Things First: Safety First!

Before we dive in, let's make sure you've got your safety glasses on. We don't want any rogue screws taking out an eye, now do we? Also, unplug that bad boy. We're not trying to turn you into a human light socket today.

Gather Your Troops

Alright, now that we're safe and sound, let's grab our tools. You'll need a Phillips #2 screwdriver, a 1/4" socket wrench, and a flathead screwdriver. Oh, and don't forget a towel to catch any belt grease. Trust me, you don't want that on your floor.

Let's Get This Party Started

First things first, we need to get to that belt. Flip that treadmill over onto its end. Yeah, I know, it's a beast, but you can do it. Just make sure it's secure and won't go rolling away on you.

Step 1: The Big Unplug

See that plug? Yeah, the one you unplugged earlier. Now, we're going to take the cover off the motor. There are four screws holding it on. Use your Phillips #2 screwdriver to remove them. Easy peasy!

Step 2: The Great Disassembly

Now, we're going to remove the motor from the treadmill. There are two bolts holding it on. Use your 1/4" socket wrench to remove them. Once they're out, you can lift the motor off. It might be a tight squeeze, but it'll come off.

Step 3: The Belt's Off, Baby

With the motor gone, you should see the belt. Use your flathead screwdriver to pry the belt off the pulley. It might take a bit of wiggling, but it'll come off. Now, take that belt and give it a good cleaning. You can use some soap and water, just make sure it's dry before we put it back.

Time for a Quick Belt Check

While you've got that belt off, let's give it a quick once-over. If it's cracked or torn, it might be time for a new one. But if it's just a bit dirty, we can give it a good clean and pop it back on.

Almost Home: The Reset

Alright, now that your belt is clean and dry, it's time to put it back on. Line it up with the pulley and use your flathead screwdriver to push it back onto the pulley. It should snap right back into place.

Now, let's put the motor back on. Line it up with the treadmill and use your 1/4" socket wrench to tighten the bolts. Not too tight, though. We don't want to strip them.

Finally, put the cover back on the motor. Use your Phillips #2 screwdriver to tighten the screws. And there you have it! Your Horizon treadmill is as good as new.

Let's Test This Bad Boy

Alright, it's time for the big test. Plug that treadmill back in and give it a test run. Start it up slow and see if that belt is running smooth. If it is, give yourself a pat on the back. You just reset your lube belt like a pro!

But hey, if it's still not working, don't get discouraged. Sometimes these things just need a little extra love. Or maybe it's time to call in the pros. Either way, you've got this, treadmill champion!
