Cast Of Black Is The New Orange

Hey there, ever wondered who's behind the scenes of that hilarious, quirky show, Black Is The New Orange? Buckle up, 'cause we're about to spill the beans on the cast that's making waves with their offbeat humor and unforgettable characters.

Meet the Masterminds

First up, we've got our fearless leader, the one who steers this crazy ship, David Stassen. He's the creator, writer, and director of this wild ride. You might recognize him from his previous work, Orange Is The New Black, but trust us, he's not just riding on that coattail. He's got a unique vision, and we're all here for it.

Now, let's talk about our dynamic duo, the ones who bring the laughs and the tears (mostly laughs, though). They're the stars of the show, the ones who make us love and hate them in equal measure. I'm talking about Lauren Lapkus and D'Arcy Carden.

Lauren Lapkus: The Queen of Quirk

Lauren plays the lovable yet slightly unhinged Jillian. She's the kind of character that makes you say, "Oh, I know someone like that!" (And then you realize, it's you. Or maybe that's just me.)

Lauren's no stranger to comedy. You've probably seen her in Jurassic World, Orange Is The New Black, or even The Good Place. But in Black Is The New Orange, she truly shines. She's the heart and soul of the show, and she's not afraid to get a little weird. Which, let's face it, is exactly what we need right now.

D'Arcy Carden: The Straight(ish) Man

Now, D'Arcy plays the ever-patient, ever-suffering Molly. She's the voice of reason in a world gone mad, and she's absolutely hilarious. It's like she's playing the straight man, but even that's a bit of a stretch in this show.

You might recognize D'Arcy from her role as Janet in The Good Place. But trust me, Molly is a whole different ball game. She's got this deadpan delivery that's just perfection. She's the yin to Lauren's yang, and together, they're a force to be reckoned with.

And the Rest of the Gang

But Black Is The New Orange isn't just Lauren and D'Arcy's show. Oh no, it's a veritable who's who of comedy. We've got Rhea Butcher as the no-nonsense Sandra, Dan Lippert as the lovable Gary, and even David's real-life wife, Rebecca Drysdale, playing the delightfully eccentric Linda.

Each of them brings something unique to the table, and together, they create a world that's equal parts hilarious and heartwarming. It's like a big, weird family, and we're all invited to the party.

So, Why Should You Care?

Alright, alright, so maybe you're not a comedy buff. Maybe you're more of a drama queen (no judgment here, I've been known to cry over a good melodrama). But hear me out: Black Is The New Orange is different.

It's not just about the laughs (though, let's be real, there are plenty of those). It's about the characters. It's about the relationships. It's about the fact that, even in the most absurd situations, these people feel real. They feel like people you know, or maybe even people you are.

And isn't that what we all want from our TV shows? To see a little bit of ourselves, a little bit of our world, reflected back at us? To laugh at the absurdity of it all, and to feel a little less alone in the process?

So, do yourself a favor. Give Black Is The New Orange a chance. Laugh a little. Cry a little. And remember, no matter how weird things get, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. And sometimes, that light is just a really funny joke.

And that, my friends, is why Black Is The New Orange is the show we all need right now. So, what are you waiting for? Go watch it already!
