Remembering Our Neighbors: A Week in East Kilbride
Hey there, East Kilbride! Let's take a moment to remember some of our neighbors who've left us this week. It's not always easy to talk about, but it's important to acknowledge the lives that have touched ours, even if just for a moment.
You know how it is, we're all busy bees. We rush to the Kingsgate Shopping Centre for our weekly shop, grab a coffee at Costa, and then we're off again. But sometimes, it's good to slow down, look around, and remember the faces we see every day.
Meet Mrs. McDonald
Remember Mrs. McDonald from the bingo at the Lanarkshire Lounge? She was always there, with her lucky dauber and a smile that could light up the place. She passed away this week, at 92. Now, that's a life well-lived, right?
Must Read
She used to tell us stories about East Kilbride when it was just a wee village. She'd seen it grow, change, and she was proud to call it home. She'll be missed, but her stories will live on, passed down like a family recipe.
Young Tom
We also said goodbye to young Tom this week. He was just 21, with his whole life ahead of him. He worked at the Tesco Metro, always with a laugh and a joke. He'd make your day, even if you were just there for the discounted pasta.
Tom was a reminder that life's short, and we should make the most of every day. He'd tell you to grab that ice cream, take that walk, call your mum. He'd make you smile, and that's something special.

Our Community
You see, it's not just about the big names, the celebrities. It's about the people we see every day. The woman who sells you your morning paper, the man who walks his dog in the Dollan Aquatherapy Pool every evening. They're our community, and they deserve to be remembered.
So, next time you're out and about, take a moment. Look around. Remember the faces, the stories, the laughter. Because they're what make East Kilbride our East Kilbride.
Rest in peace, Mrs. McDonald and Tom. You were loved, and you'll be missed.
