Bank Holiday Monday: Waitrose Open or Not?

So, you've just polished off the last of your weekend roast, and you're already dreaming of that perfect Waitrose cheese counter for your Monday night charcuterie board. But wait, it's a Bank Holiday Monday! Will the doors be open, or will you be left with nothing but a packet of cheese and onion crisps?

First things first, what's a Bank Holiday?

For those of you who've just beamed down from another planet, a Bank Holiday is a public holiday in the UK. It's a day when banks and many other businesses are closed, hence the name. It's like a little gift from the universe, a day off in the middle of the week to enjoy a long weekend.

But here's the thing, not all businesses follow the bank's lead. Some, like our beloved Waitrose, have decided that we mere mortals need our essentials, even on a Bank Holiday Monday.

Waitrose: Open for Business

You'll be pleased to know that Waitrose has decided to keep its doors open on Bank Holiday Mondays. They understand that a day off doesn't mean a day without food, right?

Now, you might be wondering why you should care. After all, it's just one day. But think about it, a Bank Holiday Monday is the perfect day to catch up on some cooking, to try out that new recipe you've been dying to attempt, or to have a lazy day in with a good book and a cup of tea. And what's a lazy day without a trip to the shops for some essential supplies?

But Wait, There's More!

Not only is Waitrose open on Bank Holiday Mondays, but they also extend their opening hours. That's right, you can shop from dawn till dusk, or at least from 8 am till 10 pm. It's like Christmas come early!
