Is Letitia Dean Coming Back To Eastenders

So, there I was, in the local shop, grabbing my morning paper, when I overheard old Mrs. Thompson at the counter. "You won't believe it," she was saying, "but I've heard a whisper that Letitia Dean might be making a comeback to EastEnders!" I nearly dropped my paper. You know how these soap opera rumours go, right? They're about as reliable as Phil Mitchell's sobriety. But still, it got me thinking, could it be true?

Let's Rewind

For those of you who've been living under a rock (or just don't care about soap operas), Letitia Dean is the actress who played EastEnders' iconic character, Sharon Mitchell. She's been a part of the show's fabric since the '80s, and her storylines have been as dramatic as the weather in Walford. She left the show a few years back, and fans have been clamouring for her return ever since.

Now, I'm not one to spread rumours, but let's face it, we've all been there. You're scrolling through social media, and you see a post about a potential EastEnders comeback. You click, you read, and suddenly, you're knee-deep in speculation. So, let's dive in, shall we?

Why the Buzz?

Well, first off, Sharon Mitchell is one of those characters that you love to hate. She's been through more drama than a high school prom, and yet, we can't get enough of her. Her on-screen daughter, Phil's daughter-in-law, and her complicated relationships with the Mitchells all make for great telly.

Secondly, with the recent shake-up in the EastEnders cast, there's been a lot of talk about bringing back old favourites to shake things up. And who better than Sharon? She's got history with almost every character on the show, and her return could spark some explosive storylines.

And let's not forget, Letitia Dean is a soap opera legend. She's been in the game for decades, and her performances have always been top-notch. Having her back on our screens could raise the bar for the show's acting, not that it's lacking, mind you.

But is it True?

As I said, I'm not one to spread rumours, but there have been a few hints that something might be cooking. The actress herself has been quite coy about the whole thing, neither confirming nor denying the rumours. And we all know that in soap opera land, that's often a sign that something's in the works.

David Gillespie returning to EastEnders

Plus, there's the fact that the show's executive producer, Jon Sen, has been dropping some pretty cryptic hints on social media. He's been posting about 'exciting' storylines and 'big' returns, and while he could be talking about any number of characters, it's got fans speculating.

What Do We Want to See?

If Letitia Dean does make a comeback, there are a million directions the show could go with her character. Personally, I'd love to see Sharon finally take control of her life and maybe even give Phil a run for his money. Or perhaps she'll finally get the happy ending she deserves (yeah, right!).

But who knows? Maybe Sharon will return with a whole new identity, a la Phil's 'Keanu' storyline. Or maybe she'll just pop up for a quick visit, only to disappear again. The beauty of soap operas is that you never really know what's going to happen next.

So, What's the Verdict?

Is Letitia Dean coming back to EastEnders? Who knows? But one thing's for sure, the rumours have certainly got fans talking. And in the world of soap operas, that's half the fun. So, keep your eyes peeled, and your popcorn at the ready. Because if Sharon Mitchell does make a comeback, you won't want to miss it.

And hey, if you see old Mrs. Thompson in the shop, you know what to do. Act surprised, of course!
