Who Died From Harry Potter Cast

Alright, gather 'round, fellow Potterheads! Today, we're going to take a little stroll down memory lane and chat about some of our beloved Harry Potter cast members who are no longer with us. Now, don't worry, this isn't going to be a sad sob fest. We're going to celebrate their lives, their talents, and the magic they brought to our screens. So, grab a butterbeer, let's dive in!

Richard Harris - Albus Dumbledore (First Films)

Let's start with the wise and wonderful Richard Harris, who played Dumbledore in the first two films. Richard was like that wise old uncle who always had a story to tell, a joke to crack, and a twinkle in his eye. He was a true Irish charmer, and his Dumbledore was as warm and comforting as a cup of hot chocolate on a cold day. Sadly, he passed away in 2002, but his spirit lives on in the magical world of Hogwarts.

Did you know? Richard was a bit of a prankster on set. He once convinced Daniel Radcliffe that his wand was real and tried to make him levitate! Now that's a magical memory if ever there was one.

Richard Griffiths - Vernon Dursley

Remember Vernon Dursley, the grumpy, muggle uncle who made Harry's life a bit of a misery? Well, the man behind that brilliant performance was Richard Griffiths. Richard was a bit like your favorite teacher, the one who could make even the dullest subject seem exciting. He had a knack for making us laugh, even when he was being grumpy old Vernon. He passed away in 2013, but his performances continue to entertain us.

Fun fact: Richard was a bit of a hero in real life too. He once saved a woman from a burning car! Now that's some serious bravery, even if he did play a bit of a villain on screen.

John Hurt - Garrick Ollivander

Now, who could forget the magical wand-maker, Garrick Ollivander? The man behind that enchanting character was the incredibly talented John Hurt. John was a bit like a wise old owl, always full of interesting stories and insights. He had a career that spanned over six decades, and he was still going strong when he passed away in 2017.

Did you know? John was a bit of a wand expert himself. He once said that his favorite wand was made of cherry wood with a unicorn hair core. Now that's a wand worthy of a true magician!

Alan Rickman - Severus Snape

And finally, we come to the one, the only, Alan Rickman. Oh, where do we start with Alan? He was like that clever friend who always had the best comeback, the one who could make even the darkest character seem complex and fascinating. His Severus Snape was a masterclass in acting, and his passing in 2016 left a hole in the hearts of Potter fans everywhere.

'Harry Potter 20th anniversary': Alan Rickman to Richard Harris, all

Fun fact: Alan was a bit of a prankster too. He once convinced Emma Watson that he had a pet ferret that he'd bring to set. He even had a fake ferret cage made! We can only imagine the look on Emma's face when she found out it was all a joke.

So, why should you care about these wonderful actors who are no longer with us? Well, because they brought the magical world of Harry Potter to life. They made us laugh, they made us cry, and they made us believe in a little bit of magic. And isn't that what life's all about? Celebrating the magic, even in the midst of the mundane.

So, here's to Richard, Richard, John, and Alan. Thank you for the magic, the laughter, and the memories. You'll always be a part of the Harry Potter family, and your performances will continue to enchant us, forever.
