First Stop: The Big Picture

Imagine you're looking at a map of the UK, like a giant jigsaw puzzle. You spot London, that big, bustling city, right? Now, zoom in a bit. See that little town nestled just northwest of the capital? That's West Drayton!

So, What County Is It In?

Drumroll, please! West Drayton is snuggled up in the county of Middlesex. Yes, you heard it right! Middlesex, that historic county that's now part of Greater London. But shh, don't tell anyone, it's a bit of a secret these days.

Now, Let's Get Quirky

You might be thinking, "Middlesex? Isn't that just a bit of Greater London now?" Well, yes and no. See, Middlesex has a bit of a split personality. It's both a historic county and a ceremonial county, but it's not an administrative county anymore. Confused yet? Don't worry, it's all part of the fun!

Here's a fun fact to blow your mind: Middlesex used to have its own county cricket team. Yes, you read that right! They played at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground. But alas, they merged with Essex in 1992. Talk about a change of pace!
