Raquel From Only Fools And Horses

Alright, mate, buckle up! We're diving into the world of one of Britain's most beloved sitcom characters - Raquel from Only Fools and Horses!

Who's Raquel?

Raquel, played by the fabulous Tessa Peake-Jones, is the long-suffering girlfriend and later wife of the loveable rogue, Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter. She's a beacon of patience and common sense in the chaotic Trotter household.

From Waitress to Wife

Raquel first appears as a waitress at The Nag's Head, where Del's charm (or lack thereof) leads to a disastrous first date. But, as they say, love blossoms in the strangest of places, and soon enough, Raquel's moved into the Trotters' flat above the Nag's.

Quirky Facts

Did you know Raquel's a bit of a history buff? She's got a degree in the subject, which makes her the most educated person in the Trotter clan by a mile. And get this - Tessa Peake-Jones, the actress who plays her, is also a history graduate! Talk about typecasting, eh?

Raquel's Style

Raquel's known for her practical, no-nonsense approach to life, reflected in her wardrobe. She's often seen in sensible skirts, blouses, and jumpers - a stark contrast to the flashy, 'this year's model' gear Del's always trying to flog. But don't underestimate her - she can rock a power suit like nobody's business.

Why We Love Raquel

Raquel's the voice of reason in a world gone mad. She's the one keeping Del grounded (well, as grounded as he can be), and she's not afraid to call him out on his dodgy dealings. She's the ultimate straight woman to Del's comedic antics, and her deadpan delivery has us in stitches.

Raquel's Catchphrases

Raquel's got a few choice phrases that've become as iconic as Del's 'Lovely jubbly!' Her classic 'I'm not a woman, I'm your better half!' and 'You plonker!' have become catchphrases in their own right.

Raquel's Legacy

Raquel's been a part of the Trotter family since 1981, and she's still going strong. She's become a symbol of resilience and patience in the face of chaos, and a beloved character in British comedy history. And let's not forget, she's the one who finally tamed Del Boy - no mean feat, that!

So there you have it, a whirlwind tour of Raquel from Only Fools and Horses. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to the Trotters' world, there's no denying Raquel's a true gem. She's the unsung hero of the show, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Cheers, Raquel!
