Kings New Years Honours List 2026

Alright, folks! Buckle up, because we're diving into the most fabulous list this side of the New Year - the Kings New Year Honours List for 2026! Now, I know what you're thinking, "Honours List? Isn't that just a bunch of stuffy old awards for people in suits?" Well, hold onto your hats, because this year's list is anything but boring!

From Heroes to Hooligans (in the best way possible)

Let's start with the heroes, shall we? Our very own Dr. Ada Sterling, the brilliant mind behind the world's first AI-powered recycling plant, is getting a well-deserved OBE. I mean, can you imagine a world without her? I'd still be trying to figure out what goes in the green bin!

And how about Chef Carlos Rodriguez, the man who brought us the now-famous 'Spicy Surprise' ice cream? He's getting a MBE for services to gastronomy. I don't know about you, but I'm already craving a scoop (or three)!

Art, Laughter, and a Whole Lot of Heart

Now, let's talk about the arts. Sasha Patel, the incredible street artist who turned our city's walls into a vibrant open-air gallery, is getting a CBE. Her murals have brought so much joy to our streets, don't you think?

And we can't forget Comedian Barry 'Baz' Thompson, who's getting an OBE for making us laugh until our sides ache. His stand-up special, 'Baz's Big Fat Jamboree', is still streaming on every device I own. Thanks, Baz!

Community Champions

But it's not all about the big names. This year's list is packed with community champions who've made a real difference. Take Volunteer of the Year, Maria 'Mama' Johnson, for example. She's been running our local community centre for decades, and now she's finally getting the recognition she deserves. Hats off to you, Mama!

And let's not forget Teacher of the Year, Mr. Ali 'The Magic' Khan. He's been inspiring kids all over the city with his unique blend of magic tricks and history lessons. I wish I'd had a teacher like him when I was a kid!

So, let's raise a glass to the heroes of 2026. Here's to another year of making our world a brighter, more colourful, and more delicious place to be. And remember, folks, every day's a good day to be a hero. Now, go out there and make it happen!
