Which Coaches Got Fired In The Nfl

So, I was sitting at my favorite sports bar last night, munching on some wings, and the TV was blaring the latest NFL news. The bartender, a die-hard Bears fan, was grumbling about Matt Nagy's future. I chuckled, "Well, at least you're not a Lions fan, they've had five coaches since you've been pouring drinks here!" He just shook his head and said, "Yeah, but who knows who's next on the chopping block?" And that got me thinking, who has been fired in the NFL this season?

First Things First: The Black Monday Massacre

Let's rewind to the most dreaded day of the year for NFL coaches - Black Monday. This year, it was like a game of musical chairs, but with less fun and more job insecurity. The first to get the boot was Matt Patricia, the Lions' coach since 2018. Detroit's fans were probably breathing a sigh of relief, but also wondering, "Who's next?"

Next up was Dennis Allen, the Raiders' coach since 2012. Now, I know what you're thinking, "But he just got a contract extension last year!" Yeah, well, that didn't stop the Raiders from pulling a 180 and sending him packing. Talk about a plot twist!

Then there was Vic Fangio, the Broncos' coach since 2019. Now, I'm not saying he was a saint, but he did have to deal with some... challenges in Denver. You know, like a revolving door at quarterback and a defense that couldn't stop a nosebleed.

Midseason Shakeups

But Black Monday wasn't the only time coaches felt the heat. In October, the Jaguars decided to part ways with Urban Meyer. Now, I'm not one to kick a man when he's down, but come on, Urban! You couldn't even make it a full season? That's like getting kicked out of a buffet for eating too slow!

Then, in December, the Texans fired David Culley. Now, I feel for the guy, he was given a team that was, well, let's just say they weren't exactly Super Bowl contenders. But hey, at least he got to experience the joy of coaching Deshaun Watson... for about five minutes.

So, Who's Next?

Alright, so we've covered the coaches who've been shown the door. But the question on everyone's mind is, "Who's next?" Well, my friends, that's the million-dollar question. I mean, we could be looking at a coaching carousel that makes Black Monday look like a Sunday drive.

But hey, that's the NFL for you. It's a tough, unforgiving league where coaches are hired to be fired. So, grab your popcorn, because this offseason is shaping up to be one wild ride.
