How Old Was Kevin In Home Alone 2

So, How Old Was Kevin in 'Home Alone 2'?

Alright, let's dive into the Christmas classic, 'Home Alone 2: Lost in New York'. You know, the one where Kevin McCallister, the kid who's always getting left behind, finds himself in the Big Apple instead of his family's Florida vacation. But hey, who's counting?

First things first, let's talk age. In the first movie, Kevin was 8. But by the time 'Home Alone 2' rolled around, he was 9. Yep, you heard it right. Kevin McCallister, the master of the house, was a year older and just as mischievous.

Now, you might be wondering, how did they pull off making him look younger in the first movie? Well, it's all about the haircut and the acting. Macaulay Culkin, the actor who plays Kevin, was actually 12 when they filmed 'Home Alone 2'. But with a bowl cut and some clever camera angles, they managed to make him look like a kid who'd just turned 9.

But here's where it gets interesting. You know how Kevin's mom, Kate, played by Catherine O'Hara, is always freaking out about how old her kids are getting? Well, in 'Home Alone 2', she mentions that Kevin is almost 10. Now, that's some serious mom logic right there. 'Almost 10' is just a fancy way of saying '9'. But hey, who are we to argue with Kate McCallister?

Now, let's talk about the timeline. The first movie takes place around Christmas, and the second one starts right after that. So, it's like, what, a week later? That means Kevin's birthday must have been sometime between the two movies. But who knows? Maybe the McCallisters celebrate Christmas so hard, they just keep the party going until New Year's.

And speaking of parties, did you know that Kevin's little brother, Buzz, was actually played by Macaulay Culkin's real-life younger brother, Kieran? Talk about a family affair! But I digress, back to Kevin's age.

So, there you have it. Kevin McCallister was 9 years old in 'Home Alone 2'. But who's counting, right? After all, it's not like he let that stop him from outsmarting the Wet Bandits again. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some aftershave to attend to.
