Meet Ed

Born on August 27, 1906, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Ed was the second of two sons to George and Augusta Gein. His mom was a strict religious woman, and his dad, well, he wasn't around much. Ed and his older brother, Henry, grew up on a farm in Plainfield, Wisconsin.

Now, you might be wondering, what made Ed tick? Was he always a... shall we say, "unique" individual? Well, that's a story for another time. Today, we're here to talk about his age when he kicked the bucket.

Fast Forward to the '50s

So, Ed's living his life, minding his own business (or so he thought), when suddenly, in 1957, the police find a woman's body under his bed. Yikes! Turns out, Ed had a thing for making... let's call them "souvenirs" from his female victims. Gross, right?

But hey, we're not here to judge. We're here to learn. And learn we shall, about Ed's age when he died.

The Horrifying True Story Of Ed Gein

Ed's Final Days

After his arrest, Ed was found not guilty by reason of insanity and was committed to a state mental hospital. He spent the rest of his life there, until his death on July 26, 1984, at the ripe old age of 77.

Now, you might be thinking, "Wow, that's older than I expected!" And you're right. Ed lived a long life, all things considered. But remember, folks, age is just a number. It's what you do with your time that counts. And, uh, maybe try to avoid the whole "killing people and keeping their body parts" thing, yeah?
