First things first, Splash hit our screens in 1984, a time when leg warmers were a thing and big hair was even bigger. Daryl, our mermaid of the hour, was born on December 3, 1960. So, do the math, yeah?

Now, you might be thinking, "Wait, wasn't she, like, a baby in that movie?" Nope, not quite. When Splash premiered, Daryl was a sprightly 23 years old. Can you believe it?

I mean, she played a mermaid who'd never seen a toilet before, let alone a city. But hey, that's Hollywood magic for you, right?

Now, you might be wondering, "Why does this matter?" Well, it doesn't, really. But isn't it fun to imagine a grown woman playing a fish out of water? Literally?
