How Old Is Wednesday In Season 2

Wednesday's Age: A Mystery Unraveled

So, you've been binge-watching Wednesday, the Netflix series that's got everyone talking. You're not alone. This spooky, yet charming, coming-of-age story has us all hooked. But there's one question that's been lingering in our minds: just how old is Wednesday Addams?

Let's dive into the world of the Addams Family and find out.

Wednesday's Age in the Comics

The Addams Family first appeared in The New Yorker in 1938, created by cartoonist Charles Addams. Wednesday, with her braided pigtails and deadpan expression, was a staple from the start. But her age? That was never specified. She was just... Wednesday.

In the comics, she was a child, but not a baby. She was old enough to have a distinct personality, but young enough to still be under her parents' care. That's about as specific as we get.

Wednesday's Age in the Movies

Fast forward to the 1990s, when the Addams Family hit the big screen. In the movies, Wednesday was played by Christina Ricci, who was around 11 years old in the first film. But the character's age wasn't explicitly stated. She was just Wednesday, the smart, sarcastic, and slightly morbid daughter of Gomez and Morticia.

In the 2019 animated film, Wednesday is voiced by Chloë Grace Moretz, who was 22 at the time. But again, no specific age is given. It seems the Addams Family likes to keep us guessing.

Wednesday's Age in the Netflix Series

Now, let's talk about the Netflix series. Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega, is a teenager. We know this because she's in high school, has a crush on a boy, and is dealing with all the drama that comes with being a teenager. But how old is she exactly?

The series doesn't give us a specific age. But we do know that she's in her first year of high school. So, she's likely around 14 or 15 years old. But remember, this is just an educated guess. The Addams Family likes to keep us on our toes.

Why Does Wednesday's Age Matter?

You might be wondering, why does Wednesday's age even matter? Isn't she just Wednesday, regardless of her age?

Well, yes and no. Wednesday's age does affect how we perceive her character. In the comics and movies, she was a child, which made her dark humor and morbid fascinations even more endearing. In the Netflix series, she's a teenager, which allows the show to explore themes of identity, self-discovery, and rebellion.

But here's the thing: no matter what her age, Wednesday remains Wednesday. She's still the same character we've loved for decades. Her age might change, but her essence remains the same.

Wednesday's Wisdom: Embrace Your Weird

So, what can we learn from Wednesday's age mystery? Perhaps it's that it's okay to be a little weird, a little different. Wednesday embraces her strangeness, and that's what makes her so lovable.

Think about it. In a world that often tries to fit us into neat little boxes, Wednesday refuses to conform. She's not a typical teenager, or a typical anything. She's just Wednesday. And that's enough.

So, the next time someone asks you how old you are, remember Wednesday. Remember that your age doesn't define you. You're you, no matter what. And that's pretty Addams-olutely amazing.
