How Old Is Thomas From Maze Runner

Hey there, maze enthusiasts! Ever wondered about the age of our favorite Maze Runner hero, Thomas? Let's dive in and find out, shall we?

So, How Old Is Thomas?

Alright, so here's the thing: the Maze Runner books and movies don't give us a specific birthdate for Thomas. Bummer, right? But don't worry, we can still have some fun with this!

In the first book, The Maze Runner, Thomas is described as being around 14 or 15 years old. But here's where it gets interesting: in the Maze Runner: The Death Cure movie, Dylan O'Brien, who plays Thomas, was 24 years old. Talk about an age gap!

Why the Age Gap?

Well, my friend, it's all about the adaptation process. When the books were turned into movies, the filmmakers decided to make the characters a bit older to fit the actors they had in mind. Plus, it can make the story feel more intense, you know?

But here's a fun fact: even though Dylan O'Brien was playing a teenager, he was actually older than some of his on-screen 'parents' in the Glade. Can you imagine that? It's like when your little cousin suddenly becomes taller than you!

Thomas's Aging Process

Now, let's talk about how Thomas ages throughout the series. In the books, there's a bit of a time jump between the first and second book, so Thomas is a bit older when we meet him again. But the movies? They stick to the same timeline as the first book, so Thomas stays around 14 or 15 the whole time.

And get this: in the books, Thomas eventually becomes a dad. Yep, you read that right! But don't worry, I won't spoil the details. You'll have to read the books to find out more about that.

Why Does It Matter?

You might be thinking, 'Who cares about Thomas's age?' And you're right, it's not the most important thing about the series. But it's fun to think about, isn't it? Plus, it's a great way to compare the books and movies, and see how the story changes with different interpretations.

So, next time you're watching the movies or reading the books, keep an eye on Thomas. Even if we don't know his exact age, we can still enjoy his journey through the Maze and beyond.

And there you have it, folks! The age of Thomas, explained (sort of). Until next time, keep running those mazes!
