Based on a Series, Not a Single Book

Here's a fun fact for you: Mary Poppins isn't based on just one book. No, no, no! It's a series of books by P.L. Travers. The first one was published way back in 1934. That's right, 31 years before the movie!

So, when the movie came out in '64, it was already a well-loved character in the literary world. But who knew it would become a cinematic phenomenon?

Walt Disney's Magical Touch
