How Old Is Takamura In Season 1

Age is Just a Number: Unraveling Takamura's Timeline in Season 1

Ever found yourself binge-watching a series, only to realize you've spent half your day in a different universe? That's the magic of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, or Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken to its fans. But as we dive into Rimuru Tempest's adventures, you might wonder, "How old is Takamura, the skilled blacksmith, in Season 1?" Let's find out!

From Human to Slime: A Timeline

First things first, let's set the stage. Our protagonist, Satoru Mikami, a 37-year-old corporate drone, gets reincarnated as a slime named Rimuru in a fantasy world. This happens in the year 2025, according to the anime's timeline. So, Rimuru's 'age' starts from there, but let's focus on Takamura.

Takamura, a skilled blacksmith, is first introduced in Episode 10 of Season 1, "The Blacksmith's Workshop." He's a human, not a monster like Rimuru, so his age is more straightforward. But when did he start his blacksmithing journey? Let's explore that.

Takamura's Blacksmithing Beginnings

Takamura's backstory is revealed in Episode 19, "The Blacksmith's Dream." He started his apprenticeship at the age of 12 under the renowned blacksmith, Gaul. That was around 10 years before the events of Season 1. So, when we meet Takamura in Episode 10, he's approximately 22 years old.

Now, you might be thinking, "That's a big age gap between Rimuru and Takamura!" But remember, Rimuru's 'age' is more about his experiences and growth, while Takamura's is literal. Plus, in the world of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, age is just a number. Rimuru, despite being a slime, has the wisdom and experiences of a 37-year-old human, while Takamura, at 22, is already a master of his craft.

Did you know Takamura's name is a reference to the famous Japanese swordsman, Musashi Miyamoto? His family name, Takamura, is a nod to Miyamoto's most famous work, Go Rin No Sho, or The Book of Five Rings. Pretty neat, huh?
