First Things First: When Was the Movie Made?

So, let's start by putting on our detective hats. The movie, The Black Phone, was released in 2021. Well, that's just because you've been binge-watching it non-stop, my friend. laughs

Anyway, the point is, Robin, our young hero, was played by a kid named Mason Thames. Now, Mason was born in 2007, which makes him, as of 2023, a sprightly 16-year-old. But remember, we're not talking about Mason here, we're talking about Robin. So, let's dive into the movie's timeline.

When Does the Movie Take Place?

Now, the movie is set in the 1970s, which is like, what, 50 years ago? gasps I know, I know, it's hard to believe we're that old. But hey, at least we're not the dinosaurs from that one movie, right? chuckles

The story unfolds in the summer of 1978, which means Robin, or rather, Mason as Robin, was probably around 10 or 11 years old during the events of the movie. But remember, we're talking about the character here, not the actor. Let's keep our timelines straight, folks!
