How Old Is Raymond Van Barneveld

Hey there, sports fans! You might know him as 'Barney', the legendary Dutch darts player who's been setting the oche alight for what feels like forever. But have you ever wondered, just how old is Raymond van Barneveld?

Blowing Out Candles Since '71

Well, buckle up, because we're about to take a trip down memory lane. Raymond was born on April 29, 1971, in the small town of Wijchen, Netherlands. That makes him, drumroll please, 51 years young as of 2022. Yep, you heard it right, he's been around the block a few times!

Now, you might be thinking, "Wow, 51? He doesn't look a day over 40!" Well, that's the magic of darts, my friend. It's like the fountain of youth, keeping our beloved players looking and feeling young, even as the years tick by.

From Teenage Prodigy to World Champ

Speaking of years ticking by, Raymond's been playing darts professionally since he was just a teenager. That's right, he's been at this game for over three decades. He turned pro in 1989, and by 1991, he was already winning major tournaments. Talk about a quick start!

But it wasn't until 1999 that Barney truly burst onto the world stage. He won his first World Championship that year, and the rest, as they say, is history. Since then, he's racked up a total of 5 World Championship titles, making him one of the most successful darts players of all time.

Still Going Strong

Now, you might think that with all those years and titles under his belt, Raymond would be slowing down. But no, this is Barney we're talking about! He's still competing at the highest level, still winning tournaments, and still entertaining crowds with his signature celebrations.

In fact, just last year, he won the World Seniors Darts Championship. That's right, at 50 years old, he was still proving that he's got what it takes to be the best. Now that's what you call a late bloomer, am I right?
