How Old Is Newt In The Maze Runner

So, you've been wondering, "How old is Newt in The Maze Runner?" I mean, who hasn't, right? Let's dive into this, shall we?

Newt's Age: A Maze of Confusion

First off, let's clear something up. Newt, played by the ever-so-talented Thomas Brodie-Sangster, isn't exactly your average teenager. He's been through the wringer, metaphorically speaking, of course. But more on that later.

Now, the books and the movies, they're a bit like that Glade Maze, full of twists and turns. The ages in the books and the movies don't always align, so we've got a bit of a conundrum on our hands. But don't worry, we'll navigate this maze together.

Newt in the Books

In The Maze Runner, the first book, Newt is described as being around 12 or 13 years old. But remember, these kids have been through the ringer. They've been in the Glade for years, so they're not your typical 12 or 13-year-olds. They've got the wisdom and the weariness of kids twice their age.

By the end of the series, in The Death Cure, Newt is around 16 or 17. But again, these aren't your average teenagers. They've been through more than most adults, so their ages are just numbers on a page compared to the experiences they've had.

Newt in the Movies

Now, let's talk about the movies. In the first film, The Maze Runner, Newt is played by an 13-year-old Thomas Brodie-Sangster. But remember, these movies take some creative liberties with the source material. So, while Newt is around 13 in the first movie, his age doesn't progress as quickly as it does in the books.

In the final movie, The Death Cure, Newt is still played by a 26-year-old Thomas Brodie-Sangster. I know, I know, it's a bit of a stretch. But hey, Hollywood magic, right? It's all about suspension of disbelief.

Well, that depends on whether you're talking about the books or the movies. In the books, Newt starts around 12 or 13 and ends up around 16 or 17. In the movies, Newt is played by actors of different ages, but the character's age progression is a bit more... flexible.

But remember, Newt's not just about his age. He's about his heart, his courage, and his loyalty. He's been through hell and back, and he's still standing. That's what makes him truly special.

So, there you have it. The age of Newt, explained. Or at least, as explained as it can be in this maze of a franchise. Now, who's ready for another cup of coffee?
