How Old Is Mickey Mouse In The Show

So, you're curious about Mickey, huh? Well, grab a seat, let's chat about our favorite mouse.

Mickey's Birthday: A Bit of a Mystery

Now, you might think Mickey's birthday is as clear as the day is long. But here's the thing, it's not as straightforward as you'd imagine. You see, Walt Disney himself wasn't too keen on celebrating birthdays. He once said, "I don't celebrate birthdays. I don't remember when I was born." So, Mickey's birthday has been a bit of a moving target.

Steamboat Willie's Debut: The First Official Date

Mickey's first appearance was in a silent film, "Plane Crazy," in 1928. But it was his second appearance, in "Steamboat Willie," that really got the ball rolling. This time, Mickey was in a synchronized sound cartoon, and it premiered on November 18, 1928. So, that's the date Disney officially celebrates as Mickey's birthday.

Mickey's Age: A Matter of Perspective

But wait, you might say, that's over 90 years ago! How old is Mickey, really? Well, that depends on how you look at it. If you go by the first appearance, Mickey's over 93. But if you stick to the Steamboat Willie premiere, he's a sprightly 92. Or, you could consider Mickey to be ageless, like a certain someone we know who shall remain nameless (Walt, obviously).

Mickey's Timeless Appeal: The Secret to His Longevity

You know what they say, "Age is just a number." And for Mickey, it's a number that keeps changing. But one thing that hasn't changed is his appeal. He's been through it all - silent films, black and white, color, TV shows, theme parks, you name it. And through it all, he's remained the same lovable, mischievous mouse we all know and love.
