How Old Is Mako In Legend Of Korra

So, you're curious about Mako's age in "Legend of Korra", huh? Let's dive right in, grab a virtual latte, and chat about it.

First things first, when did "Avatar: The Last Airbender" end?

Picture this: it's 171 AG (After Galu), and our beloved Aang has just defeated Fire Lord Ozai. The world is at peace, and Aang and Katara are all loved up, ready to start a family. Meanwhile, in Republic City, a certain waterbender named Korra is about to make her grand entrance.

Now, let's fast forward to "Legend of Korra".

We pick up Korra's story 70 years later, in 174 AG. She's a feisty 17-year-old ready to take on the world. But what about Mako? Where does he fit into this timeline?

Mako, our handsome and brooding firebender, is a bit older than Korra. He's a strapping 20-year-old when we first meet him in the series. But here's where it gets a bit tricky. The series spans four seasons, each covering a different season of the year and a different threat to Republic City.

So, how old is Mako by the end of the series?

Well, my friend, by the time we reach the epic conclusion in "Book Four: Balance", Mako has aged a whole year. That's right, he's a sprightly 21-year-old by the end of the series. I know, I know, you're thinking, "But what about all those years in between?"

Here's the thing: the series doesn't cover every day of those years. It's more like a snapshot of each season. So, while Mako does age, it's not as dramatic as it might seem. Plus, let's be real, he's a total silver fox at 21. I mean, have you seen those abs?

But what about Mako's past? How old was he when he met Korra?

Alright, let's rewind a bit. When Mako first meets Korra, he's 19, and she's 17. They're both still teenagers, but Mako's got a few more years under his belt. Now, you might be wondering, "How did they meet?" Well, that's a story for another coffee date. Let's just say it involves a lot of sparks - both literal and metaphorical.

Legend Of Korra Mako

Anyway, there you have it! Mako is 20 years old for most of "Legend of Korra", and he's 21 by the end. Not too shabby for a waterbender turned police officer turned love interest, right?

So, what do you think? Did Mako age gracefully? Or do you wish the series had covered more of his formative years? Let me know in the comments. Until next time, my friend!
