Born in the Roaring Twenties

Joan Collins was born on May 23, 1933, in Paddington, London. That's right, she's a child of the Roaring Twenties! Imagine her as a tiny flapper, dancing the Charleston, and sipping on Shirley Temples (well, maybe not the last part). She's older than the Empire State Building, the Hindenburg disaster, and even Mickey Mouse's first appearance!

Now, you might be thinking, "Wow, she's older than my grandparents!" Well, hold onto your hats, because she's also older than the first ever episode of Coronation Street, the UK's longest-running soap opera. That's right, she's been around since before the days of Elsie Tanner and Annie Walker!

From Screen Siren to Icon

Joan Collins started her acting career in the 1950s, a time when Hollywood was all about glamour and glitz. She's been in countless films and TV shows, but she's probably best known for her role as the scheming Alexis Carrington in Dynasty, the '80s soap opera that was bigger than big hair and shoulder pads.

She's played alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood - think Marlon Brando, Warren Beatty, and even her fellow Dynasty star, the late, great Linda Evans. She's been a Bond girl, a witch, and even a queen (in The Queen, not The Queen's Gambit, sadly).

Age is Just a Number

So, how old is Joan Collins now? Well, as of writing, she's 88 years young. That's right, she's older than the first ever episode of The Simpsons, the first mobile phone call, and even the first ever website!
