How Old Is Deran In Animal Kingdom

So, I was binge-watching Animal Kingdom the other day, and I found myself wondering, "Just how old is Deran Cody, anyway?" I mean, the guy's been through a lot, and it's hard to keep track of time when you're busy dodging bullets and dealing with your dysfunctional family, right?

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Dude, it's just a TV show. Who cares about Deran's age?" Well, bear with me here. Age is a big deal in this series. It's like the Cody family's ticking time bomb, you know? Each year that passes brings them one step closer to their inevitable downfall. Or so it seems.

So, how old is Deran?

Alright, let's dive into the math. The show premiered in 2016, and Deran, played by the ever-so-handsome Jake Weary, was introduced as a 29-year-old in the first season. That means, as of 2021, Deran would be... drumroll... 34 years old!

But wait, you might say, "That can't be right. Deran looks way younger than that!" Well, my friend, that's the magic of Hollywood for you. Jake Weary is actually a year older than Deran's supposed age when the show started. Isn't that something?

Deran's Age Through the Seasons

If you're a stickler for details (like me), you might want to know how Deran's age progresses throughout the series. Here's a quick breakdown:

• Season 1 (2016): Deran is 29.
• Season 2 (2017): He turns 30.
• Season 3 (2018): Deran is 31.
• Season 4 (2019): He turns 32.
• Season 5 (2020): Deran is 33.
• Season 6 (2021): He turns the big 3-4!

Pretty neat, huh? Now you can impress your friends with your vast knowledge of Deran Cody's age. You're welcome.

Why Does Deran's Age Matter?

You might still be wondering why Deran's age is such a big deal. Well, aside from the obvious fact that it helps us keep track of time in the show, it also plays a significant role in his character development.

Deran is the oldest Cody son, and as such, he's always felt the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. His age represents not just the passage of time but also the accumulation of his experiences, both good and bad. It's like a silent ticking clock, counting down to... well, we don't know what yet, do we?

Plus, let's not forget that Deran's age is a constant reminder of the age gap between him and his younger brothers. It's a source of tension, a power dynamic, and a constant struggle for dominance within the Cody family. So yeah, age matters in Animal Kingdom.

But What About the Real Jake Weary?

While we're on the topic, let's talk about the real Jake Weary for a second. As I mentioned earlier, Jake is actually older than Deran. He was born on February 14, 1986, which makes him a Leo (or maybe an Aquarius, depending on when you were born). Isn't it funny how life imitates art?

Anyway, Jake Weary is an American actor and musician. He's been in the industry since 2007, but he rose to prominence with his role as Deran Cody in Animal Kingdom. Fun fact: Jake is also a talented musician and has released several singles and EPs under his own name. Who knew, right?

So, What's Next for Deran?

Now that we've established Deran's age and its significance, let's talk about what's next for our favorite Cody son. As of now, there's no official word on whether Animal Kingdom will be renewed for another season. But if it does, I, for one, can't wait to see what adventures (or misadventures) Deran gets into in his mid-30s.

Will he finally take charge of the Cody family? Will he find love? Or will he spiral even further into the darkness? Only time will tell. Until then, let's enjoy the ride and appreciate the complexity of Deran Cody's character, no matter what age he is.

And there you have it, folks! The definitive guide to Deran Cody's age in Animal Kingdom. I hope you found this little journey through time as fascinating as I did. Until next time, keep your eyes peeled for more behind-the-scenes tidbits and trivia from your favorite shows!
