How Old Is Billy In Stranger Things

So, you've been binge-watching Stranger Things, huh? Great show, right? But you've been wondering, "Just how old is Billy in Stranger Things?" Well, buckle up, my friend, 'cause we're about to dive into the Upside Down of Billy's age.

Let's Set the Scene

Imagine you're at a family reunion. You've got your grandma telling stories about the good old days, your cousin who just graduated college, and then there's Billy. He's the one who's just old enough to have a driver's license, but still young enough to be on his mom's health insurance. That's Billy in a nutshell - he's that awkward in-between age that's hard to pin down.

Now, Let's Get Technical

In the world of Stranger Things, Billy Hargrove, played by the charming Dacre Montgomery, first appears in season 2. Now, the show is set in the 80s, but it's not like they're using carbon dating to determine the characters' ages. The writers have given us some clues, though.

Billy is introduced as the new kid in town, moving in with his family from California. He's a high school student, but he's not a freshman. He's got that swagger of a senior, but he's not old enough to be driving a car without a learner's permit in the real world. So, let's say he's around 17 or 18, give or take a year.

But What About the Actor?

You might be thinking, "But I've seen Dacre Montgomery in other stuff! He looks older than that!" And you're right. Dacre was born on November 22, 1994, making him a whole 7 years older than our estimated Billy. But remember, acting is all about illusion. Dacre might be playing a teenager, but he's got the wisdom and experience of a 20-something behind those blue eyes.

So, Why the Age Gap?

Well, it's Hollywood, baby! Age is just a number, and sometimes, the right actor for the role might be a bit older than the character they're playing. It's not uncommon. Think of Leonardo DiCaprio playing a teenager in Titanic when he was actually in his early 20s. It's all about the art of suspension of disbelief.

In Conclusion

So there you have it. Billy Hargrove is probably around 17 or 18 years old in the world of Stranger Things. But remember, age is just a number, and in the end, it's the story and the characters that really matter. Now, go forth and enjoy your next binge-watching session, secure in the knowledge that you've got the scoop on Billy's age.

And hey, if you ever find yourself at a loss for something to watch, just remember: in the words of the great Billy Hargrove, "You shouldn't have come here, bitch!" (But please, don't actually say that. It's not nice.)
