So, I was binge-watching Euphoria the other day, and I found myself wondering, "How old are these kids supposed to be again?" I mean, one minute they're partying like it's their last night on earth, and the next, they're dealing with more drama than a soap opera. It's enough to make you question if they're even old enough to drive, let alone make the life-altering decisions they're faced with.
Now, I know what you're thinking, "But Euphoria is a drama series, it's not meant to be a documentary on teenage life." And you're right, it's not. But that doesn't stop us from being curious about the ages of these characters, does it?
Let's dive in, shall we?
Our main girl, Rue Bennett, is played by the incredibly talented Zendaya. Now, Zendaya is actually 25 years old in real life, but her character, Rue, is supposed to be a high school junior. That's right, folks. Zendaya is playing a 17-year-old. I know, I know, she looks amazing for her age, but that's beside the point.

Now, let's talk about Rue's bestie, Jules Vaughn. She's played by the equally talented Hunter Schafer, who is 23 years old in real life. Jules is also supposed to be a high school junior, which means she's the same age as Rue. Isn't that sweet? They're like, what, a day apart in age?
Next up, we have Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi. Jacob is 24 years old in real life, but his character, Nate, is supposed to be a high school senior. Now, I don't know about you, but when I was a senior in high school, I didn't have a six-pack and look like I could be a model. But hey, that's Hollywood for you.
Euphoria: Every Main Character's Age
But wait, there's more!
Cassie Howard, played by Sydney Sweeney, is 24 years old in real life. Her character, Cassie, is supposed to be a high school junior. That's right, folks. Sydney is playing a 17-year-old. I know, I know, it's crazy. But hey, at least she's not the only one playing a teenager when she's actually in her mid-twenties, right?
Now, let's talk about Maddy Perez, played by the lovely Alexa Demie. Alexa is 28 years old in real life. Yes, you read that right. She's playing a high school junior, and she's 28. I know, I know, it's mind-blowing. But hey, at least she looks young for her age, right?
How Old Are The Characters In Euphoria: Complete Guide & Key Details
So, why does it matter?
Well, for one, it's always interesting to see the age gap between the actors and the characters they're playing. It's a reminder that, yes, these are indeed actors playing characters, not real teenagers dealing with real-life drama.
But more importantly, it's a reminder that Euphoria is a work of fiction. These characters are dealing with issues that are often faced by teenagers, but they're not meant to be taken as a realistic portrayal of teenage life. It's a drama series, after all. It's meant to be entertaining, not educational.
So, the next time you're watching Euphoria and you find yourself wondering how old these characters are, just remember, they're not meant to be real. They're meant to be a fictional representation of the struggles and triumphs of growing up. And that's what makes Euphoria such a compelling watch.
