How Much Did Usyk Make Vs Dubois 2

Hey there, fight fans! You might be wondering, "How much did Usyk and Dubois rake in for their rematch?" Well, let's dive in and find out. Grab a drink, get comfy, and let's chat about it.

First Things First: The Purse

Alright, so the main event at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium had a purse of £30 million. That's right, thirty million pounds! To put that into perspective, that's like having a million quid for every year Usyk's been a pro boxer. Not bad, huh?

Now, you might be thinking, "That's a lot of money, but how was it split?" Well, that's where things get interesting.

Usyk's Cut

Our Ukrainian hero, Oleksandr Usyk, took home a cool £20 million. That's 67% of the total purse! It's like he was saying, "I'm the undisputed champ, and I deserve my slice of the pie."

To give you an idea, that's more than what some countries' GDP per capita. I mean, you could build a small village with that kind of cash. Not that Usyk's planning on retiring to a tiny island anytime soon, though.

Dubois' Share

Now, let's talk about Joe Joyce. He took home the rest, which was a tidy £10 million. That's still a hefty chunk of change, right? It's like going from eating instant noodles to having a whole restaurant to yourself.

For Joyce, it's a nice payday, but it's also a statement. It shows that he's a serious contender in the heavyweight division. He's not just here to make up the numbers, you know?

But Wait, There's More!

Now, those purse figures are just the base salaries. There are other ways these fighters can make bank. Endorsements, sponsorships, PPV points... the list goes on.

For instance, Usyk's got a deal with Vodafone Ukraine. I'm guessing they're not paying him in phone credits, though. And Joyce? Well, he's got Betfair and Everlast backing him. Not a bad gig, if you can get it.

So, Was It Worth It?

You might be wondering, "Was all this money worth it?" Well, that's a tough one. It's not just about the cash, right? It's about the legacy, the bragging rights, the chance to prove yourself as the best.

But hey, if you're gonna be in the ring, taking punches and giving them, you might as well get paid, yeah? And these guys certainly did that.

Anyway, that's the lowdown on the money side of things. Now, who's ready to talk about the fight itself? Let me know in the comments!
